As a math
teacher in years gone by, I recognize the need
to know the basics of a subject before moving
on, and I was always concerned that children
were coming to depend more on calculators to
work out basic math problems instead of their
brain. In recent years, this has got much
worse, as we try to entertain children with fun
cartoons while trying to teach them the basic
mathematics.
There are lots
of workbooks out there with basic addition,
subtraction and multiplication practice, but
there is also another product from TRN,
ThinkRightNow, International. These are proving
to be very good at teaching the basic
mathematics for children, and once they are
good at this, then they have a good grounding
to move onto other areas. Without the basics, a
child is lost and easily gets frustrated in
math class, and it will only get worse for
them.
Take a look at Math Mastery
Now, and see if this makes
sense for your
children.
